Reviewed preparations for SAE 2025 competition

Jammu, 17 May (HIST). In a gathering filled with enthusiasm and intellectual fervor, members of the Society of Automotive Engineers, Collegiate Club, SMVDU convened at the Central Workshop of the School of Mechanical Engineering to review the preparations for the upcoming SAE 2025 competition. Relevantly SMVDU has previously participated in events such as SAE BAJA 2014, Eco Kart 2017 and SAE BAJA 2018 in which participating teams are required to design and build a vehicle to compete in the national competition. Apart from innovation, the uniqueness of the design, strength, mobility and toughness of the design are tested on designated tracks in a national level competition.

The meeting was moderated by team leader Divyansh Kale, Mechanical Engineering student at SMVDU and Amod Vaibhav, Electrical Engineering student at SMVDU. The session began with an introduction to exploring the features contained within the first manufactured vehicle with the aim of gaining insight into the design, engineering, manufacturing and physical aspects of a previous design. There were also discussions related to technical intricacies and possibilities for future improvements. Dr. Mir Irfan Ul Haq, Faculty Coordinator, SAE Collegiate Club, SMVDU briefed the participants about various aspects of new product development and highlighted the challenges associated with it.
