Talking about this constituency, which has witnessed the victory of Congress candidates 7 times and Shiromani Akali Dal candidates 10 times, during the first Lok Sabha elections in 1952, Surjit Singh Majithia, belonging to Majha region, had won the election by a margin of 23363 votes and in 1957, in 1962, In 2017 also, Surjit Singh Majithia had won this seat by a margin of 44218 and 1990 votes respectively. In the elections of 1967, Gurdial Singh Dhillon, resident of Pigeon village Panjwad of Tarn Taran village of Majha region, won by 45192 votes and in 1971 also Gurdial Singh Dhillon held the flag of Majha. Mohan Singh Toor of Shiromani Akali Dal in 1977, Lahna Singh Toor of Shiromani Akali Dal in 1980, Surinder Singh Kairon of Congress in 1991, Tarlochan Singh Toor as MJ candidate in 1985, 1998 and 1999 won the election in 2004. Dr. Shiromani Akali Dal from Khadur Sahib Lok Sabha constituency in 2009 after areas. Ratan Singh Ajnala retained the leadership of Majhalas on this seat. During one of these elections, he defeated the big face of politics of Doaba region, Rana Gurjit Singh, by 32260 votes. However, in 1989, when Tarn Taran was a Lok Sabha constituency, Shiromani Akali Dal's Simranjit Singh Mann won the election from here with 4 lakh 80 thousand 417 votes and he was from the Malwa region. He also became the only non-Maja leader to win from this constituency with the highest number of votes.

Talking about Khadur Sahib Lok Sabha constituency, which has reached a pentagonal competitive situation, this time too four major candidates are from Majha region while one candidate is from Malwa. Here in Punjab, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party has made Patti MLA and Majhe resident Laljit Singh Bhullar its candidate. He is also a minister in the Punjab cabinet. Similarly, Majhe's popular face Prof. Virsa Singh Valtoha is contesting from Shiromani Akali Dal and Bharatiya Janata Party has also fielded Majhail from this constituency. BJP candidate Manjeet Singh Manna hails from Mianwind village in Tarn Taran district, while Varas Punjab organization chief Amritpal Singh, who had contested the elections independently and is lodged in Assam's Dibrugarh jail under the NSA, is also from the Majha region. . He is a resident of Jallupur Kheda village of Amritsar district. Congress party has fielded Kulbir Singh Zira against four candidates from Mazail. He has been a one-time MLA from Zira constituency of Firozpur district of Malwa region.
