Market surged due to buying in last hour, investors made profit of Rs 3.09 lakh crore

New Delhi, May 16 (Hindustan Reporter) After facing ups and downs throughout the day, the domestic stock market was successful in closing on a strong note due to the buying done in the last hour. During trading on Thursday, Sensex jumped more than 1,200 points from the low and Nifty jumped more than 375 points from the low. After the entire day's trading, Sensex closed with a gain of 0.93 percent and Nifty with a gain of 0.92 percent.

Today, during the day's trading, there was heavy buying in the shares of Realty and IT for Consumer Goods sectors. Apart from this, there was a bullish atmosphere in the shares of consumer durables, banking, automobile, FMCG, metal, oil and gas and healthcare sectors. There was continuous buying in the broader market today, due to which the BSE midcap index closed with a gain of 1.07 percent. Similarly, the Smallcap index ended today's trading with a gain of 0.85 percent.

Today, due to market weakness, the wealth of stock market investors increased by more than Rs 3 lakh crore. The market capitalization of BSE listed companies increased to Rs 407.34 lakh crore (provisional) after today's trading. Their market capitalization on the last trading day i.e. Wednesday was Rs 404.25 lakh crore. In this way, investors made a profit of about Rs 3.09 lakh crore from today's trading.

Today, there was active trading in 3,952 shares in BSE during the day's trading. Of these, 2,140 shares closed with gains, while 1,689 shares were in decline and 123 shares closed without any movement. There was active trading in 2,276 shares in NSE today. Of these, 1,286 shares closed in the green after earning profit and 990 shares closed in the red after incurring a loss. Similarly, out of 30 shares included in Sensex, 23 shares closed with gains and 7 shares closed with decline. Out of the stocks included in Nifty, 40 stocks closed in the green mark and 10 stocks closed in the red mark.

BSE Sensex jumped 351.21 points today and opened at 73,338.24 points. There was minor buying after the market opened, but as profit-booking started soon after, the index continued to fall. Due to continuous selling, by 2 pm the Sensex fell by 457.06 points to reach the level of 72,529.97 points. All-round buying started in the last 1 hour of trading, due to which this index jumped 1,219.50 points from the low level and reached the level of 73,749.47 points with a gain of 762.44 points. After the entire day's trading, the Sensex closed at 73,663.72 points with a gain of 676.69 points.

Like the Sensex, NSE's Nifty started trading today at 22,319.20 points with a gain of 118.65 points. There was a slight rise in this index as soon as the market opened, but after that due to selling pressure this index kept falling continuously. Due to pressure in the market, this index reached the level of 22,054.55 points with a weakness of 146 points, a little after 2 pm. However, after this the bulls completely took over the market.

Due to all-round buying in the market, shortly before the end of today's trading, this index jumped by 377.70 points from the low level and reached the level of 22,432.25 points with a gain of 231.70 points. After buying and selling throughout the day, Nifty closed at 22,403.85 points with a gain of 203.30 points.

Today, after the day's trading, among the big stocks of the stock market, Mahindra & Mahindra with a gain of 3.02 percent, Tata Consumer Products by 2.89 percent, Bharti Airtel by 2.69 percent, Tech Mahindra by 2.62 percent and LT Mindtree by 2.62 percent are today's top 5 gainers. Joined the list. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki joined the list of today's top 5 losers with a weakness of 2.11 per cent, Tata Motors 1.15 per cent, State Bank of India 1.02 per cent, BPCL 1.01 per cent and Power Grid Corporation 0.75 per cent.
