Shri Food and Organic Farming is the need of the hour: Minister Rakesh Singh

Jabalpur, 21 February (HS). State Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh has described food and organic farming as the need of the present time. In accordance with the sentiments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he stressed on encouraging more and more farmers to produce green grains, and in view of the nutritional properties of green grains, he also requested people to include food items made from it in their diet.

Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh is addressing the inaugural session of the two-day exhibition-cum-fair organized by Farmer Welfare and Agricultural Development Department and Aatma Project under the State Millet Mission on Wednesday on the production, processing and value addition of Shri Anna in the capacity of Chief Guest. Were. In his address, he urged the scientists of Farmer Welfare and Agricultural Development Department and Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University to ensure availability of technical guidance and input materials to the farmers for the production and processing of grains. He also requested the farmers to adopt Shree Anna and organic farming.

The inaugural session of the exhibition and fair organized in the auditorium of Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University was presided over by Dr. PK Mishra, Vice-Chancellor of the Agricultural University. He told the farmers to take agricultural production to the highest level with the help of Shri Anna seeds available in various centers of Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University and the advice of senior scientists.

Chairman of District Panchayat Agriculture Committee, Manohar Singh Thakur said that the farmers should be aware of Shri Anna and be enriched with technical advices. On this occasion, Registrar of Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University RS Sisodia, Dean Ashutosh Srivastava and Director Extension Service DP Sharma were also present.

Giving information about the State Millet Mission, Joint Director Agriculture KS Netam said that Mahakaushal area is a favorable place for the production of coarse grains like Kodo-Kutki, Jowar, Bajra, Ragi.

Atma Project Director Dr SK Nigam and Agriculture Deputy Director Ravi Amravanshi gave information about the departmental scheme to the farmers. Progressive farmer Vinay Singh Thakur demonstrated self-made organic input material, Raghuveer Singh demonstrated organic jaggery, Maa Reva Kundam demonstrated innovative crop Chia by Farmer Producer Organization Patan. About 600 farmers of the district participated in the exhibition and fair. Sub-divisional Agriculture Officer Patan Dr. Indira Tripathi, Assistant Director Agriculture Amit Pandey, Kirti Verma, Namita Udkude, Manisha Patel and Pratibha Gaur were present along with their departmental staff. The program was conducted by Senior Agriculture Development Officer Mrs. Rashmi Parsai and Rajneesh Dubey.
