It is suspected that the dead body of a couple is still buried at the spot. 50 hours have passed since the accident but NDRF team and fire brigade personnel are doing rescue work on the spot. The help of dog squad is being taken to find the dead bodies from the debris.
According to the information, around 4 pm on Monday evening, a huge hoarding suddenly fell on a petrol pump near Ghatkopar Eastern Express Highway. Till Tuesday, 14 people had died in this incident. In this accident on Wednesday, the rescue team removed three bodies from the debris of the hoarding. Rescue work is going on at the spot. Many more people and vehicles are trapped under the debris. The number of dead and injured is expected to increase. 88 people have been injured in this accident. Of these, 41 people are undergoing treatment at Rajawadi Hospital.
The rescue operation by NDRF, Municipal Disaster Services and Fire Brigade is still going on at the spot. Till now 50 percent work of removing debris has been completed. 25 two-wheelers and 10 four-wheelers have been pulled out from the debris. Rescue operation is going on with the help of JCB. It is being told that a couple and a driver are trapped here. The work of evacuating them is going on war footing.
Meanwhile, in the hoarding case, a case of culpable homicide has been registered against Bhavesh Bhinde, the team of Pantnagar police station who put up the hoarding. Bhavesh Bhinde is currently absconding and the police is searching for him. The government will give Rs 5 lakh to the families of those who died in this accident. Besides, the government will bear all the expenses of the treatment of the injured and they will also be given financial assistance.
