New Delhi, May 14 (HS). A fire broke out in the Income Tax office located in ITO area of Delhi at 3 o'clock today. After the fire, the office superintendent died due to suffocation due to the smoke spread in the building.
During the rescue operation, 7 people trapped in the building were rescued safely, including five men and two women. In the initial investigation, the cause of the fire is said to be the bursting of the AC compressor.
Due to the fire, there was chaos on the entire floor. The fire department was immediately informed. After that, 21 fire tenders reached the spot to extinguish the fire. The fire department personnel were able to control the fire after about two hours of hard work.
According to the fire department, the fire was so terrible that people in the surrounding rooms started feeling unbearable heat and suffocation. People started running here and there. Some people got trapped in the building due to smoke spreading in the building. Fire personnel took them out of the building. A 46-year-old man was found unconscious during the rescue operation. He was taken to the hospital for treatment, where the doctor declared him dead. He was identified as the Office Superintendent.
