Ranchi, May 14 (HS). Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar asked the officers and employees engaged in election work to prepare better for the upcoming phase of Lok Sabha elections. For good voting at the polling stations of the urban body by distributing voter information slip to every voter, tag the officials of the municipal body with the polling stations and club the family members of the voters. Besides, BLOs and supervisors should also go door-to-door and monitor the voter information slips being distributed among the voters.
Ravi Kumar said that polling station awareness groups should be activated by holding small meetings with them. Speed up the initiative to transport physically handicapped voters to the polling booths. Work hard for better voting percentage. Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar was reviewing the preparations for the fifth, sixth and seventh phase of Lok Sabha elections in Jharkhand with municipal officials through video conferencing on Tuesday.
The Chief Electoral Officer reviewed the district wise preparations. He said that a complete plan should be prepared to bring disabled and physically challenged voters to the polling booth and it should be implemented. Work to make people aware through jingles and songs released for election awareness on and before the voting day. Also ensure clarity through miking. Prepare a detailed action plan for miking, so that the voting percentage increases. He said that reaching out to voters through one-to-one voter connect will increase the voting percentage. He stressed on working on micro labels. Instructed to provide complete transportation facilities to the voters who are unable to come to the polling stations and to do real time monitoring on the day of polling.
Senior officials of the election office including Additional Chief Electoral Officer Sandeep Singh and Dr. Neha Arora were present in the meeting along with the Chief Electoral Officer.
