Former Deputy CM of Bihar Sushil Modi died in AIIMS hospital

Patna Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushil Modi died at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi on Monday. The mortal remains will reach his residence in Rajendra Nagar, Patna on Tuesday morning by a special plane. Last month he had announced his retirement from politics. He said that I have told everything to Prime Minister Narendra Modi; This time I will not be able to do anything in the Lok Sabha elections.

Sushil Kumar Modi, suffering from cancer, was ill for a long time. The 72-year-old BJP leader was ill for the last six months and due to this he was not even campaigning for the party in the Lok Sabha elections. On April 3, he told that he was suffering from cancer. Sushil Modi had recently told through a message on social media that 'I have been battling cancer for the last 6 months, but now the time has come that I should tell people about it. I will not be able to do anything in the Lok Sabha elections and I have told all this to PM Modi. Always grateful and always dedicated towards the country, Bihar and the party.

Expressing condolences on the demise of Sushil Modi, PM Modi wrote that I am deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Sushil Modi ji, who was my friend and important colleague in the party for decades. His invaluable contribution was behind the rise of BJP and its successes in Bihar. Opposing the Emergency, he associated himself with student politics and was known as a friendly, hard-working MLA. BJP National J. P. Nadda wrote on Twitter, “The news of the demise of senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Sushil Modi ji is extremely sad. From the Vidyarthi Parishad till now we have worked together for a long time for the organization. Sushil Modi's entire life was dedicated to Bihar.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that Sushil Kumar Modi was a true soldier of the JP movement and he worked with us for a long time as Deputy Chief Minister. I had a personal relationship with him and am saddened by his demise. Along with this, many other big leaders of BJP have also expressed grief over his demise.
