The Kalpavriksha which is mentioned in the scriptures and Puranas, that rare and mythological Kalpavriksha is present in Pushprajgarh Vikashkhandaj of Anuppur district, this Kalpavriksha, which is years old, on the slope of the Narmada bank, a large part of the root became visible due to cutting of soil from the roots of the Kalpavriksha. Therefore, there is a danger of it falling. Due to religion and faith, people come here in the hope of fulfillment of their wishes and prayers.
Shivnisangam village of Damehdi Gram Panchayat under Pushparajgarh District Panchayat of the district, where there is a huge years-old Kalpavriksha on the banks of Narmada, it is also mentioned in the Vedas and Puranas. Kalpavriksha is a special tree of heaven, Kalpavriksha is also mentioned in religious texts, which is considered the main medium of wish fulfillment. According to mythological scriptures and Hindu beliefs, it is believed that whatever wish a person makes by sitting under this tree gets fulfilled, because this tree has immense positive energy, according to the Puranas, it is one of the 14 gems of Samudra Manthan. Kalpavriksha was also born, this tree obtained from the churning of the ocean was given to Devraj Indra and Indra established it in the Surkanan forest in the north of the Himalayas, towards which the local devotees have immense faith.
Construction worth Rs 15 lakh collapsed in the first rain
Due to the indifference and lack of care of the administration, in the name of security arrangement and soil conservation of Kalpavriksha, the villagers had cordoned off only a few bamboos to protect their heritage, but every year during the rainy season in the part on the Narmada river side, Soil erosion is continuing unabated these days due to which the existence of the Kalpa tree is in danger. Due to which environmentalists including local residents appealed several times for protection. After this, the district administration took cognizance and sanctioned about Rs 15 lakh from the fifteenth finance in the year 2015-16 to stop the soil erosion around the Kalpavriksha, in which concrete returning child platform construction and leveling work was to be done, but the construction agency In consultation with the then sub-engineer, quality-less work was done, and the returning shaft collapsed in the very first rain and ended up in the Narmada river. After this, Collector Ashish Vashishtha directed the officials for re-construction.
Collector took stock of construction works
On Wednesday, Collector Ashish Vashishtha and Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat Tanmay Vashishtha Sharma, along with Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat Pushprajgarh and Assistant Engineer Aman Dehariya, took stock of the construction works being done for the prevention of soil erosion of Kalpavriksha. Gave instructions regarding following the quality standards of works. The contractor of the construction work was instructed to speed up the construction work by increasing the number of laborers and complete the work in the month of March. The Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat Pushprajgarh was directed to regularly monitor the works.
Narmada Parikrama is not complete without the worship of Kalpavriksha.

According to the villagers, the age of its Kalpavriksha is said to be more than thousands of years. The fruit of Kalpavriksha contains abundant amounts of Vitamin B and C and is used by local villagers to cure asthma and eye related diseases, which is also helpful in curing diseases.
Kalpavriksha should be protected on the lines of Bodhi tree:
Demanding complete protection of the invaluable heritage established in the area, the villagers told that just as the country's most VIP Vodhi tree is planted in the hill of Salamatpur in Raisen district, which is guarded 24 hours by four security personnel. Kalpavriksha should be protected in a similar manner.
