Jhajjar, 20 February (Hindustan Reporter). District Ayurvedic Officer Dr. Inderjit Singh said that under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Captain Shakti Singh, Surya Namaskar program was organized on the theme of Family Surya Namaskar in every house from February 1, 2024 to February 20, 2024. During this program, students in gymnasiums, schools and colleges in the villages and cities of Jhajjar district were made to practice Surya Namaskar by Ayush Yoga assistants.
He told that Jhajjar district was given a target of four lakh registrations for the Surya Namaskar program and by working seriously on it, the AYUSH department has completed the target by registering more than 4 lakh 50 thousand in the district.
Dr. Inderjit Singh said that in the last phase of this program, 108 Surya Namaskar competitions were organized at Maharishi Dayanand Stadium on Tuesday. On this occasion, after the participants present Surya Namaskar was done by yoga expert Baldev and yoga assistants, the winners were selected as per the guidelines issued by Haryana Yoga Commission, Panchkula. He told that District Sports Officer Lalita had special support in organizing this competition.
He told that Surya Namaskar is beneficial for flexibility in the body, strength of muscles, blood circulation system and mental health. He told that by practicing this exercise daily, we can exercise the entire body in a very short time. AYUSH assistants played an important role in making this knowledge discovered by the sages reach the common people. He told that apart from educational institutions, people were also made to practice Surya Namaskar in their homes and people were made aware of the benefits of Surya Namaskar.
