Jhansi, May 13 (Hindustan Reporter) Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi will campaign for his close aide and former Union minister Pradeep Jain from Jhansi Lok Sabha seat on May 14. Along with him, SP chief and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will also attend the rally to appeal for the victory of the Indi alliance candidate. This will be their fifth joint rally in Uttar Pradesh. For this, preparations are being made on war footing by Congress and its constituent parties.
This rally will be organized at the Craft Fair ground. SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav and Congress crown prince Rahul Gandhi will reach the venue at around 2.20 pm. A protocol has been issued for his one hour stay there. After that they will leave directly for Madhya Pradesh also. All the constituent parties of Indi alliance are busy preparing on war footing to organize the public meeting.
It is noteworthy that Pradeep Jain is contesting against sitting BJP MP Anurag Sharma. Who has the support of about one and a half lakh Brahmin votes. Sharma is also counting on the state government's plan to develop the area as an industrial hub. BSP has fielded new face Ravi Prakash Kushwaha.
Jain is taking on his rivals by highlighting the age-old problem of backwardness that forces locals to migrate to other parts of the country in search of better education and jobs. He is also questioning the process of land acquisition for the industrial centre, saying the low compensation hurts the farmers whose land is being acquired.
