Fatehabad, 13 May (HS). With a view to conduct the Lok Sabha elections in a fair, free and peaceful manner, a special workshop was organized on Monday at Police Line Fatehabad for the police personnel engaged in election duty and security arrangements. Necessary guidelines were given to the police personnel in the workshop organized from 7 am to 9 am.

Election Nodal Officer and DSP Jaipal Singh, while addressing the police employees and officers, said that police has an important role during elections. It is an important duty of the police to conduct fair, free and peaceful elections. Police employees should perform their duty honestly and correctly from the beginning till the end of the elections, following the Model Code of Conduct. At the time of elections, immediately inform your higher officials about any untoward incident or any kind of obstruction in the elections. Do not consume any kind of intoxicants while on duty.

While addressing the police force during the briefing, Inspector Meena Rani, Suresh Kumar and their team from Haryana Police Academy Madhuban said that our priority is to conduct free and fair elections. During the workshop, all policemen were directed not to allow crowds to gather around the polling stations. No person should be allowed to carry mobile phone or other prohibited items inside the polling station. Take action against those who disrupt the election process/violate the model code of conduct. The police force appointed on duty should fully cooperate with the presiding officer. Keep the numbers of sector, zonal and other senior officials with you.

At the conclusion of the workshop, DSP Bhuna Jagdish Chandra thanked the inspectors and their team who came from Haryana Police Academy Madhuban and said that the election day is like a festival for the police and it is the responsibility of the police to ensure 100 percent voting. He said that all the police forces on duty should behave nicely with the voters. There should not be any kind of indecency. Discharge your duties with full seriousness during elections so that voting can be conducted smoothly. On this occasion, Police Line Manager Inspector Ram Singh, team from Haryana Police Academy Madhuban and employees and officers of various police stations from District Police Fatehabad were present.
