Faridabad, 13 May (HS). The gunman of State Bank of India, Neelam Chowk, NIT, committed suicide by shooting himself with his gun. The fellow guard informed the bank officials about this. After this the police was informed. Police took the body into custody on Monday and got its post-mortem done at Badshah Khan Hospital.
The police have not received any complaint from the relatives in this regard. Amit Kumar, resident of Tajupur village under Bhupani police station, told that he drives a Haryana Roadways bus. His 56-year-old father Vijay Kumar was an army driver. After retirement in 2003, he joined the job of gunman in State Bank of India. About four months ago, he was posted in SBI located at Neelam Chowk. He used to sit in the cabin behind the bank. Went for duty on Sunday morning. Late in the night it was found out that his father had died due to gunshot.
According to Amit, his father did not have any problem of any kind. There was no domestic dispute either. Nothing is known as to why this step was taken. He has demanded that the police investigate the matter. Also asked to check the footage of CCTV cameras installed near the cabin in the bank so that the whole truth can be revealed. Vikas, the second son of deceased Vijay Kumar, works in a private company. There is also a daughter Pooja. All three sons and daughters are married. Pawan Kumar, son of Vijay Kumar's uncle, is the sarpanch of the village. Sarpanch told that Vijay Kumar was very cheerful. It did not seem at all that this incident would happen. SI Rajkumar, the investigating officer of the case from NIT police station, said that investigation is being done.
