New Delhi, May 13 (HS). The domestic stock market managed to close with gains on Tuesday. Today's trading started with a decline but in the first session of the day the stock market fell victim to a huge decline. Later, buyers put pressure on the market, due to which the stock market was successful in recovering and reaching the green mark.
In today's trading, Sensex jumped by almost 1 thousand points intra-day. Similarly, Nifty also succeeded in jumping by more than 300 points from the low level. After the entire day's trading, Sensex closed with a gain of 0.15 percent and Nifty with a gain of 0.22 percent.
During today's trading, there was buying in shares of metal, pharmaceutical and realty sectors. On the other hand, there was selling pressure in shares of automobile and energy sectors. There was mixed trading in the broader market today, due to which the BSE Midcap index closed with a gain of 0.36 percent. On the other hand, the Small Cap index ended today's trade with a decline of 0.23 per cent.
Today, due to purchasing of midcap shares, the wealth of stock market investors increased by about Rs 1 lakh crore. The market capitalization of BSE listed companies increased to Rs 397.55 lakh crore (provisional) after today's trading. Their market capitalization on the last trading day of last week i.e. Friday was Rs 396.56 lakh crore. In this way, investors made a profit of about Rs 99 thousand crore from today's business.
Today, there was active trading in 4,086 shares in BSE in the day's trading. Of these, 1,780 shares closed with gains, while 2,176 shares were in decline, while 130 shares closed without any movement. There was active trading in 2,294 shares in NSE today. Of these, 915 shares closed in the green mark after earning profit and 1,831 shares closed in the red mark after incurring a loss. Similarly, out of 30 shares included in Sensex, 16 shares closed with gains and 14 shares closed with decline. Out of the stocks included in Nifty, 26 stocks closed in the green mark and 24 stocks closed in the red mark.
BSE Sensex opened today at 72,476.65 points with a weakness of 187.82 points. In early trading, this index fell by 798.46 points to 71,866.01 points in the first one and a half hour of trading. But after this, buyers became active in the market and started buying all around. With the support of continuous buying, this index jumped 997.55 points from the low level and reached the level of 72,863.56 points with a gain of 199.09 points. After the entire day's trading, the Sensex closed at 72,776.13 points with a gain of 111.66 points.
Like the Sensex, NSE's Nifty started trading today with a fall of 27.25 points at the level of 22,027.95 points. As profit booking started as soon as the market opened, this index fell by 234.15 points to reach the level of 21,821.05 points. After this, buyers exerted pressure, due to which the movement of this index started increasing. With the support of continuous buying, this index recovered 310.60 points from the low level and reached 22,131.65 points with a gain of 76.45 points. After buying and selling throughout the day, Nifty closed at 22,104.05 points with a gain of 48.85 points.
After the entire day's trading, among the big stocks of the stock market, Cipla 5.61 percent, Asian Paints 3.90 percent, Adani Ports 3.13 percent, Divi's Laboratories 3.11 percent and Adani Enterprise joined the list of today's top 5 gainers with a gain of 2.94 percent. . On the other hand, Tata Motors joined the list of today's top 5 losers with a weakness of 8.30 per cent, BPCL 1.90 per cent, Shriram Finance 1.82 per cent, NTPC 1.29 per cent and ONGC 1.24 per cent.
