Release of Dev Patel's thriller Monkeyman stalled in India

Mumbai: The release of Hollywood actor Dev Patel's film 'Monkey Man' has been stopped in India. Many Indian actors including India's famous OTT star Shobhita Dhulipala and Sikandar Kher are included in this film. He is waiting for his film to reach the Indian audience.

Dev Patel, who is known as the hero of the film 'Slumdog Millionaire', has tried his hand in direction for the first time and has made this film. The story of the film is quite politically sensitive. Lok Sabha elections are going on in India, hence the Censor Board is busy. The approval of the film is being delayed to avoid any controversy.

It was announced that the film would be released in India on 19 April. But, meanwhile, Lok Sabha elections started. Therefore the release of the film was stopped. The film was supposed to be released on a multinational OTT platform but this platform has also refrained from releasing the film on its Indian platform to avoid any controversy.

This film has done a business of Rs 233 crore worldwide. However, the actors including Shobhita Dhulipala have high expectations from their Hollywood project and want the film to reach the Indian audience. But his wish has not been fulfilled yet.
