Mother and son arrested for stealing in jewelery shop

New Tehri, May 11 (Hindustan Reporter) Police have arrested the accused mother and son in the case of theft in a jewelery shop in Ghansali town.

CO Osin Joshi, while disclosing the theft in the jewelery shop of Ghansali town in his office, said that the accused had committed the theft in broad daylight on May 2. Four stolen gold necklaces worth Rs 1.5 lakh have also been recovered from the accused mother and son. Police are also searching for three other people involved in the theft.

Soo Joshi said that the thieves have been caught through CCTV footage and surveillance. Five people are involved in the theft. Two of them have been arrested. The search for the rest is ongoing. The history of the accused is also being scrutinized. In the CCTV footage, a woman, a man and three children were seen leaving in a Jane Stello car. Along with activating the surveillance team, on May 10, a woman Sunita and her son Hrithik, residents of Ashok Vihar Akhara Wali Gali police station, Ghaziabad, were arrested from Paukhal market.

The accused woman told during interrogation that such jewelery shops target the rural markets and urban areas. Where there are women or elderly people. Under the guise of looking at the jewellery, the people around you indulge in conversation and clean their hands of the jewellery. The woman told that her husband passed away a long time ago. The family had a lot of debt. It was becoming difficult to manage the expenses. He did this work of theft to support his children. He was trying to sell stolen jewelery in Paukhal when the police caught him.

The CO said that among the other accused, brother-in-law Raju alias Madrasi, son of late Bhagwan Das, resident of Sambhal, UP, Sandhya, daughter of Jaipal, resident of Chandosi UP, Vishal resident of Gajraula UP, are being searched.
