A horrific accident took place in Jhansi late on Friday night. The car of the groom carrying the wedding procession was hit by a truck. After the collision, the truck and car caught fire. Four people including the groom sitting in the car were burnt alive. Two people in the car have been saved.
After the accident the truck driver fled from the spot. Apart from the groom, his brother, nephew and the car driver died in the accident. The accident took place on Parichha overbridge in Baragaon police station area on Jhansi-Kanpur highway.
Akash Ahirwar, son of Santosh Ahirwar, resident of Bilati village, was married on Friday. He left for Chhapar village of Baragaon police station area with the wedding procession for the bride's house. There were 6 people including the groom in the car. At night, when his car reached Parichha overbridge on the highway, it was hit by a truck coming from behind. The CNG cylinder exploded in the car. The car and truck caught fire.
The groom Akash, his brother Ashish Ahirwar (30), Ashish's 4-year-old son Mayank and driver Jaikaran alias Bhagat (32) were burnt alive in the car, while Ravi Ahirwar and Ramesh of the village were saved by the people nearby. He has been admitted to the medical college.
After the collision, first the car and then the truck caught fire. This created an uproar there. On information, police and fire brigade vehicles reached the spot. Relatives and other relatives also reached from behind in other vehicles. He broke the glass of the burning car and somehow pulled out two people. He was admitted to the medical college for treatment.
