He told that the district administration had received information about the two rescued female tourists being trapped in Churdhar's Teesri on Friday evening, after which the district administration immediately started making necessary arrangements for their rescue.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the name of one of these two rescued women is Richa Abhay Sonawane, who was born on 10 April 1980 in Darjeeling, West Bengal and has a USA. Has a passport.
Similarly, the name of the second woman is Sonia Ratan, who was also born in India on 5 April 1978 and she also has a USA passport. According to the information, this woman has undergone spinal surgery and has spinal injury.
He said that these two female tourists have been safely rescued and taken to Chandigarh this morning where they have been treated.
The Deputy Commissioner said that as soon as information was received about the need for help of these two women in the third house at around 4 pm on Friday evening, SDM Sangrah Sunil Kayath was immediately sent to the spot along with a team of police, doctors and other officers.
Sumit Khimta told that Lady Doctor Shalini Negi and the medical team reached there in the night itself and after checking the health of these tourists, they were provided medical services.
He said that the SDF team reached the spot at 5 am on Saturday and completed the rescue operation.
