Jharkhand High Court seeks trial status of lower court on Manoj Punmiya's petition in money laundering case


Ranchi, May 11 (HS). The hearing of the discharge petition of Manoj Kumar Babulal Punmiya, accused in the money laundering case related to former Chief Minister Madhu Koda, was held in the Jharkhand High Court on Saturday. In this case, the court has asked the lower court for the current status of the trial of this case. The next hearing will be held on June 21.

Manoj Punmiya's discharge petition was rejected by the PMLA special court. After this he has filed a petition in the High Court. In the money laundering case, apart from Madhu Koda, ED had filed ECIR 2/2009 against seven accused like Arvind Vyas, Manoj Kumar Babulal Punmiya, Anil Bastavade, Vinod Sinha, Vikas Sinha etc. Madhu Koda and others are accused of money laundering worth about Rs 3600 crore. At present, testimony in this case is going on in the PMLA court.
