Prayagraj, 21 February (HS). The non-selected candidates have suffered a major setback on the petition challenging the reservation in Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2020. The Court said that the distribution of unreserved, reserved seats as well as the number of seats for horizontal reservation has been determined as per the relevant laws and rules. There is no mistake in this.
The petitioner could not clarify that there was an error in giving reservation. Also, the selected candidates were not made parties. Therefore, the petition is dismissed. Justice Saurabh Shyam Shamsheri has given this order while hearing a total of 27 petitions including that of Shweta Rmarya and 21 others.
On behalf of the petitioners, it was said that the reservation given to Other Backward Class candidates (OBC) in the Assistant Teacher 2020 recruitment case is not correct. On behalf of the petitioners, it was said that the assistant teachers were selected at the district level. Whereas, reservation was wrongly implemented at the state level. This had an adverse impact on candidates belonging to other backward classes. Exact information about the number of seats reserved for OBCs and the number of appointments on them was not given.
The petitioners also cited the candidates selected in Shahjahanpur, Jhansi and Hardoi districts. The reply said that the final merit list has been prepared district wise keeping in mind the reservation of posts under the 1994 Act. There has been no irregularity in this. The candidates selected by the petitioners were also not made parties. For this reason the petition is not maintainable.
