After a long wait, the way has been cleared for Laila Khan alias Reshma Patel Nadirshah Patel, who worked in B and C grade films of Bollywood, to get justice. At the age of just 30, he was murdered by his own stepfather Parvez Iqbal Tak. He was the third husband of Laila's mother. Parvez had murdered the actress and her siblings and buried their bodies.

A Mumbai sessions court on Thursday convicted Parvez Tak of murdering his stepdaughter and actress Laila Khan, her mother and Laila's four siblings in 2011. Tak was convicted of murder and destruction of evidence, among other crimes under the Indian Penal Code. Parvez Tak was arrested in 2012. This incident was carried out by Parvez Tak in the month of February 2011.
