Although the first film was a hit, the makers rejected it because of its looks

Despite being from a film background, it was not easy for Allu Arjun to make a place in the film world. Recently at an event, he revealed that in the initial phase of his career, he faced a lot of difficulty in getting work because according to the filmmakers, he was not good looking. Allu made his debut in 2003 with the film 'Gangotri'. After this, he got his first success from director Sukumar's romantic drama film 'Arya'. Recently, a program was organized in Hyderabad on the completion of 20 years of this film. Allu also attended the program and told about his film journey, 'My first film 'Gangotri' had earned well but my inability as an artist was that I could not create my own identity. I was nothing. But everything changed after attending the screening of actor Nithin's film 'Dil'. Sukumar approached me for the film 'Arya'.

He was a new director and I liked the story written by him. Chiranjeevi also listened to the script of the film and I did the film. The film had completed 125 days in theaters and that was when I believed that I too can prove myself and move forward. At the event, Sukumar said that Prabhas and Ravi Teja were the first to approach for the story of 'Arya' but later both of them refused and Arjun was signed. Allu also said at the event that despite his first film 'Gangotri' doing well at the box office, he was having trouble getting work because wherever he went, people rejected him because of his looks.
