Arrest of 5 brokers involved in smuggling of coffee drugs before Lok Sabha elections

Mumbai: Lok Sabha elections are to be held on May 20 in the entire metropolitan area including Mumbai and neighboring important cities like Nashik and Pune. Before this election, Narcotics Control Bureau conducted an operation and arrested five most wanted drug dealers.

This special operation was conducted under the leadership of Amit Ghawte, Additional Director, NCB Mumbai, with the intention of ensuring that the elections are conducted peacefully and smoothly. Under this process, these agents dealing in drugs were kept under strict surveillance and were tracked and taken into custody.

NCB had seized a large quantity of Nitrazepam (pharma drug) tablets from Mumbai last month. NCB has arrested two people in this case. In this case, the police from Surat to R.L. Patel, the main broker of coffee products, was arrested.

Apart from this, two kg of Mephedrone was seized from Bhiwandi D. A main broker named Rathore was caught. Three people have already been arrested in this case.

Last year, NCB had seized two thousand bottles of banned codeine cough syrup. In this case NCBA S. A broker named Tomar was arrested. Apart from this, last year 20 kg of Mephedrone was seized from Dongri in South Mumbai.

In this case the supplier Babush alias S. Chaudhary has been arrested. Apart from this, FM is also absconding since 2021 in the case of seizure of Mephedrone from 157 villages. Sheikh has been arrested by NCB on the basis of intelligence information. Shaikh kept changing locations but NCB traced him with the help of sophisticated messaging system and caught him.
