Bhopal: Three youth drowned in Ghoda Pachhad Dam, two died, search for one continues

Bhopal, 9 May (HS). Three youths drowned on Thursday evening in Ghoda Pachhad Dam located on Raisen Road in the capital Bhopal. Two of these youths died. Divers have recovered their bodies, while the third youth is missing. His search is on. During this time, police and administrative officials also reached the spot. The police is busy investigating the matter.

Bagsevania police station in-charge Virendra Kumar Sen said that seven youths living in Pipliya Pende Khan under Bagsevania police station had come to Ghoda Pachhad Dam on Thursday afternoon for a picnic. All the friends sat here near the dam and ate food and drinks and went down to the dam to take bath at around 5.30 pm. During this time, three youths drowned after going into deep water. When fellow friends raised an alarm, nearby villagers arrived and informed the police. When the police reached the spot and started searching in the dam with the help of divers, the bodies of two youths were recovered, while the search for the third was going on till late night.

He said that the names of the three youths who drowned in the dam have been named as Arjun Malviya (20), Nitin Narvade (23) and Sanjay Mehar (26). Among these, Arjun is being searched in the dam. The names of four other friends have been mentioned as Durgesh Gadge, Ajay Gadge, Shubham Ahire and Sumit Sawale. All the friends are residents of the same area. After getting information about the incident, his family members also reached the spot. It is being told that due to darkness the search was stopped at night. Searching will be done again on Friday morning.
