BJP approaches Election Commission against Pankaj Mishra

Ranchi, 09 May (Hindus). A BJP delegation reached the Election Commission on Thursday with a complaint against Pankaj Mishra. State coordinator of Law Cell Sudhir Srivastava and BJP leader Subodh Kant were present in the delegation. Sudhir Srivastava said that the Model Code of Conduct is effective across the country from March 16, 2024. Despite this, Pankaj Mishra, who has also been the MLA representative of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, has to travel from Ranchi to Delhi for treatment. Meanwhile, Pankaj Mishra, while in judicial custody, holds political meetings and gives political instructions. Holding political meetings and giving political instructions while in judicial custody not only amounts to challenging the judicial process but is also a violation of the model code of conduct.

In this context, a video has also been submitted to the Election Commission by the delegation. In the said video, Pankaj Mishra is giving political instructions while in judicial custody. The BJP delegation has also demanded that all the policemen seen present in the video protecting Pankaj Mishra should also be removed immediately. A copy of the memorandum and video has also been sent to the Chief Election Commissioner, New Delhi.
