Ranchi, May 9 (HS). The hearing of the petition filed by former Chief Minister Hemant Soren against the summons of the CJM Court in the case of disobeying the summons in Jharkhand High Court was held on Thursday. Judge Rajesh Kumar's court refused to hear Hemant Soren's petition in the case. The court has directed to send it to the competent bench.
The court said that this is a matter related to PMLA, on which only the competent court will hear. Therefore, this petition should be placed before the court of the Acting Chief Justice. On behalf of Hemant Soren, a request was made to cancel the complaint filed in the case. In the petition filed on behalf of Hemant Soren, it has been said that he had responded to the ED summons to which he had not gone. After this the summons was lapsed. Hemant Soren appeared before the ED on the fresh summons and complied with the summons. The ED, motivated by malicious intent, had issued summons to him repeatedly.
In this case, the CJM court had taken cognizance under section 174 of the IPC of the complaint lodged by ED Ranchi Zone Assistant Director Devvrat Jha against former Chief Minister Hemant Soren and issued summons and directed him to appear. However, Hemant Soren has not appeared yet in this case.
In the complaint, the complainant ED has stated that ED had issued 10 summons to Hemant in the land scam case, out of which Hemant Soren appeared before the ED only on two summonses. This is disregard of ED summons. Hemant Soren appeared before the ED on the 8th summons on 20 January and on the 10th summons on 31 January.
