Free Baggage Limit: Air India found it expensive to carry excess baggage, free baggage limit reduced

Free Baggage Limit: Tata Group's airline Air India has shocked the passengers. Now carrying luggage through Air India will become expensive. The airline has reduced the limit of free baggage from 20 kg to 15 kg. Since taking control of Air India from the government, Tata Group is taking new steps to make Air India profitable. Air India suffered a loss of about Rs 50 thousand crores under the control of the government.

Changes have been made in Economy Comfort and Comfort Plus

The airline has given information about these decisions in a notification sent to travel agents. Air India has said that passengers traveling in Economy Comfort and Comfort Plus classes will now be able to carry only one hand bag up to 15 kg free of charge. This decision has been implemented. Tata Group will buy Air India in 2022. Earlier, airlines were allowed to carry bags up to 25 kg as check-in baggage. Last year it was reduced to 20 kg.

DGCA had made the rule of minimum 15 kg bag.

Most private airlines in the country allow free check-in bags only up to 15 kg. Now the same rule has been implemented in Air India also. However, budget airlines like IndiGo allow passengers to carry only one bag. But, in Air India you can carry multiple bags up to 15 kg. According to the rules of aviation regulator DGCA, all airlines will have to allow passengers to carry a bag of at least 15 kg.

Economy Flex holders will be able to carry bags up to 25 kg.

According to an Air India spokesperson, passengers traveling in the Economy Flex class will be allowed to carry bags up to 25 kg. He said that the new system will not cause any problem to the customers. Last year, the airline had also divided the economy class into several categories to increase revenue.
