Ranchi, 7 May (HS). The weather took a turn in the state on Tuesday evening. As the evening approached, the people of the state got some respite from the scorching heat. Scattered rain accompanied by strong winds occurred in some districts including the capital Ranchi, Ramgarh and Gumla. In the afternoon, there was rain and hailstorm in some districts. This gave people relief from the heat of summer. The weather became pleasant due to drizzle in Ranchi. The maximum temperature had reached 44 degrees in many districts of the state.
Meteorologist Abhishek Anand said that on May 8 and 9, there may be light to moderate rain at many places in the state. Many places will also see light to moderate rain on 10th and 11th. During this period there is a possibility of thunder and lightning. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to remain alert. Hail may occur in Ranchi, West Singhbhum, Khunti, Ramgarh, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Jamtara, Dumka and Deoghar. Strong winds (40-50 kilometers per hour) may also occur. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert regarding this.
