Baramati Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Voting is going on in Baramati seat in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections. Supriya Sule, candidate of Sharad Pawar group from Baramati Lok Sabha seat, has reached Katewadi, the house of Ajit Pawar. Ajit Pawar and his mother are in Katewadi, Supriya Sule has gone alone to Katewadi to meet him. This journey proved to be a major turning point in the politics of Baramati. These veterans voted in Maharashtra
Among those who voted early in the morning were state Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, his wife Sunetra Pawar, who is the NCP candidate from Baramati, and her mother Asha Pawar. He cast his vote at a polling booth in Baramati Lok Sabha constituency in Pune district.
Sunetra Pawar and sitting MP Supriya Sule are contesting from Baramati. Baramati Lok Sabha constituency has traditionally been the stronghold of Sharad Pawar and his daughter Supriya Sule.
NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar, his wife Pratibha, daughter Supriya Sule and their family, MLA Rohit Pawar and his family also voted in Baramati. Additionally, Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh voted in Latur, while Union Minister Narayan Rane cast his vote in Sindhudurg.
Ritesh Deshmukh is the son of Congress leader and former chief minister of the state, late Vilasrao Deshmukh. Rane is the BJP candidate from Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg seat. Prominent candidates also include Shahu Chhatrapati of the Congress royal family in Kolhapur and BJP's Udayanraj Bhosale in Satara.
Sharad Pawar's daughter Supriya Sule has been winning from Baramati continuously since 2009. Sule's rival Sunetra Pawar is relatively new to politics. After separation from Sharad Pawar, Ajit group has got NCP party and symbol. After this, Sharad Pawar is in the fray with a new election symbol and party.
