An incident of collapse of an under construction building has come to light in George city of South Africa. The accident happened 400 kilometers away from the capital Cape Town. Officials say that many people have been injured in the accident. According to the information received, 59 people were buried under the debris of the building's apartment. However, on receiving information about the incident, the fire brigade and police reached the spot and carried out relief and rescue operations. In which 10 people were pulled out of the debris after much effort and were taken to the hospital. Five out of these 10 people have suffered serious injuries.
Many people were injured in the accident
According to a statement from the George Municipality, an ambulance and rescue operations are underway at the scene. This building is located near the Municipal Corporation office. Municipality spokesperson said that many people have been injured in the building collapse accident. The building was about four to five storeys. He further said that the exact number of people injured in this incident has not yet been officially revealed. And emergency services personnel are responding to the incident.

The South African government is monitoring the building disaster and has dispatched essential resources to assist local authorities at the scene. Local government chairman Ellen Wind said that saving people's lives is our main priority right now. Therefore, the emergency department team is engaged in rescue work.
