Many countries including India, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa have announced their teams for the T20 World Cup 2024. Now Uganda has announced its 15-member squad for the World Cup. This will be the first time that a Ugandan team will bid for the T20 World Cup. Brian Masaba has been given the captaincy, while Riyazat Ali Shah has been made the vice-captain of the team. The team also includes 43-year-old Frank Nsubuga, who will be the oldest player in the Ugandan team. 3 Indian and 2 Pakistani origin players have also got a place in this 15-member team. Riyazat Ali Shah and Dinesh Nakrani are known for their explosive batting. Apart from this, the team also includes a young player in the form of Juma Miyaji, who has played in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
3 Indian players will play for Uganda
Uganda has included 3 players of Indian origin in the T20 World Cup team. Alpesh Ramjani was born in Mumbai but moved to Uganda to pursue his cricket career. 35 year old Raunak Patel has also been playing for Uganda for a long time. He was born in Anand, Gujarat. Apart from him, Dinesh Nakrani is also from India.
Uganda will be in Group C
20 teams will participate in the T20 World Cup 2024. All these teams have been divided into 4 groups of 5 teams each.
