Kolkata, 06 May (HS). Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah, who reached West Bengal for election campaign, on Monday claimed that this time BJP's victory on at least 30 Lok Sabha seats in the state is certain.
“We are confident of winning at least 30 seats,” Amit Shah told the media after a road show in West Bengal's Krishnanagar Lok Sabha constituency in support of BJP candidate Amrita Roy. It is also possible that this time BJP's total seats from the state may reach 35.”
During the road show, Shah said, “I am overwhelmed by the enthusiastic participation of the huge crowd in this road show. He said that I want to ask you whether illegal infiltration in West Bengal should be stopped or not?, should CAA be implemented or not?, should this hooliganism be stopped or not? Should this era of corruption end or not?” He said that Trinamool Congress cannot liberate the people of the state from such threats. He also appealed to the people to vote without any fear.
Amit Shah said that there is no need to be afraid of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's goons. Due to security arrangements they will not be able to harm you this time. The Election Commission of India has made tight security arrangements in the state.
It is noteworthy that in 2019, BJP had won 18 out of 42 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
