Mumbai: A 72-year-old bakery owner has been arrested in Kalyan for raping a nine-year-old girl. This same criminal had committed a crime with an innocent child inside the shop.
A girl resident of Mahatma Phule police station area of Kalyan had gone to the accused's bakery to do some shopping. Then the old owner of the bakery offered him chocolate. He took the girl to the shop on the pretext of giving her chocolate. Where she was raped.
The accused threatened the girl that he would kill her parents if she told anyone about this crime. The girl got scared by this. However, later the victim informed her parents about the incident. After this a complaint was lodged with the police.
Police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act and other sections.
Police have arrested the accused. It is also being investigated whether he had previously raped any other girl.
