New Delhi: Earthquake tremors were felt in the capital Delhi on Sunday. The earthquake occurred at 4:19 pm. However, earthquake tremors were not felt. Its center was West Delhi and its depth was five kilometers. The intensity of the earthquake was measured at 2 on the Richter scale. The last earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi on January 22 this year. During that time, the epicenter of the earthquake was southern Xinjiang, China, whose intensity was measured at 7.2 on the Richter scale.
Delhi is very sensitive to earthquake
The national capital and NCR region are considered highly sensitive from seismic point of view. Therefore it has been placed in seismic zone four. Scientists say that several fault lines (Delhi Sohna Fault Line, Mathura Fault Line and Delhi-Moradabad Fault Line) pass through Delhi. These are all included in the active fault lines.
