Mumbai: On the positive impact of good results from several companies in the corporate results season, funds opened today with finance stocks led by Bajaj twins, automobile stocks Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki and private bank stocks including IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank. There was progress. Sensex crossed 75,000 and Nifty crossed 22,750. The US Federal Reserve's Open Market Committee meeting has begun today before concluding tomorrow. After yesterday's strength in the US markets and overall good corporate results, a positive effect of the strength in the markets of Europe and Asia was also seen. Stock markets will remain closed tomorrow-Wednesday, 1 May 2024 on the occasion of Maharashtra Day.
Sensex falls 188 points to 74483 as chaos ends: Nifty falls 38 points to 22605
Sensex jumped 440.11 points and reached above 75000 at 75111.39. In the last quarter of an hour a sudden decline started, there was selling in IT, metal, banking stocks and they came back rapidly to 74346.40. Which today decreased by 188.50 points compared to the previous day's close. While the Nifty 50 spot index initially rose 139.95 points to hit a high of 22783.35, in the last quarter it touched a low of 22568.40 and finally fell 178.50 points from the peak to close at 22604.85. Which decreased by 38.55 points compared to the previous close.
Rise in IT stocks: Selling in Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, TCS, Infosys
Shares of funds witnessed heavy selling today as IT-software services, technology companies witnessed huge layoffs across the globe along with signs of slowing business growth. Tech Mahindra fell by Rs 26.85 to Rs 1261.95, HCL Technology fell by Rs 19.55 to Rs 1367.55, TCS fell by Rs 48 to Rs 3822.60, Infosys fell by Rs 13.90 to Rs 1421. BSE IT index fell 338.11 points to close at 34094.81. Along with this, Moschip Semiconductor fell by Rs 7.73 to Rs 148.91, Birlasoft fell by Rs 24.40 to Rs 650.20, Zegal fell by Rs 9.15 to Rs 301.15, Genesis fell by Rs 12.20 to Rs 597.55.

Today, BSE Auto Index rose 854.54 points to close at 51066.09 due to aggressive buying of funds in shares of automobile companies. Price of Mahindra & Mahindra increased by Rs 93.45 to Rs 2156.30, price of Ashok Leyland increased by Rs 7.25 to Rs 192.60, price of Apollo Tires increased by Rs 17.50 to Rs 511.85, price of Bajaj Auto increased by Rs 178.80 to Rs 8938.60, Hero MotoCorp increased by Rs 84.65 to Rs 4543.00. 5 rupees , MRF rose by Rs 2297.45 to Rs 1,33,050, TVS Motor rose by Rs 33.60 to Rs 2069.85, TI India rose by Rs 52.70 to Rs 3755.90. The price of Tata Motors increased by Rs 8.90 to Rs 1009.35, the price of Maruti Suzuki increased by Rs 110.70 to Rs 12,806.45.
Among financial stocks, REC rose Rs 44 to Rs 507, JM Fi, Sumit Square, Caffeine Techno up.

JM Financial rose Rs 7.40 per cent to Rs 507.25 while quarterly net profit rose 44.05 per cent to Rs 4016.3 crore and recorded write-back provisions of Rs 711.9 crore, Sumit Securities rose Rs 92.10. Rs 1465.45, PFC increased by Rs 25.80 to Rs 441.40, Caffeine Technology increased by Rs 41.95 to Rs 746.80, HDFC AMC increased by Rs 40 to Rs 3887.75, Canfin Home increased by Rs 22.60 to Rs 768.20.
