Toronto: Mark Miller, Canada's Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, announced today that the temporary policy allowing students to work more than 20 hours per week off-campus is set to expire on April 30, 2024, and will not be extended. “This fall, we intend to make changes to the number of hours students work off-campus each week.
It is mandatory for students coming to Canada to study here. Thus, allowing students to work up to 20 hours a week will ensure that they focus primarily on their studies with the option to work if needed.
Additionally, international students will be allowed to work 24 hours a week in Canada starting in September, with the 40-hour work period ending on April 30.
