Khargone: Information about code of conduct given in the meeting of candidates and election agents

Khargone, 29 April (Hindustan Reporter). After the withdrawal of nominations on Monday, election symbols have been allotted to the remaining five candidates for the Khargone-Barwani Lok Sabha constituency included in the fourth phase under the Lok Sabha Elections-2024. After the candidates for the Lok Sabha constituency were decided, a meeting of the candidates and their election agents was organized in the Collectorate meeting room under the chairmanship of Collector and Returning Officer Karmaveer Sharma and they were informed about the model code of conduct. Deputy District Election Officer JS Baghel, Assistant Returning Officer Satyendra Berwa, Master Trainer Amit Sharma, Election Supervisor Kailash Patidar and Lok Sabha candidates and their election agents were present in the meeting.

Collector Sharma asked the candidates and their election agents to strictly follow the model code of conduct prescribed by the Election Commission of India to conduct free, fair and peaceful voting in the entire Lok Sabha constituency. Do not hold election campaign meetings without permission and do not use any vehicle for election campaigning without permission. The original copy of the permission should be pasted on the windscreen of the vehicle for which permission has been taken for election campaign. All candidates will have to submit their election expenditure accounts to the expenditure accounting team on the prescribed dates. No candidate will make cash payment of more than Rs 10,000 to any person for any item of election campaign.

It was told in the meeting that the paid news published and disseminated in newspapers and electronic media is being monitored by the MCMC Committee. No advertisement or promotional material should appear on electronic and social media without certification. Separate permission will have to be obtained for the vehicle carrying election campaign material and it will not be used in election campaign. All candidates and their agents should take care that the code of conduct is not violated. Information regarding randomization, commissioning and counting of EVMs was given in the meeting.
