Alipurduar, 27 April (HIST). Women have mobilized against illegally selling liquor in the district. The women lodged a written complaint at Alipurduar police station on Saturday demanding a ban on illegal liquor. The women allege that adulterated liquor is sold illegally in the Kaljani river area of ward number 15 of the municipality. Many youth in the area have died after drinking that liquor.
Despite repeatedly raising voice against it, the problem has not been resolved. Due to which today a written complaint has been lodged at Alipurduar police station demanding complete prohibition of liquor in the said area. This time the women have threatened to protest if the police do not take action.
