Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Madhya Pradesh BJP's veteran leader and longest serving Chief Minister of the state, Shivraj Singh Chauhan can now show his strength in national politics. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also indicated this.
PM Modi said in the election rally organized in Harda, Madhya Pradesh that now he wants to take Shivraj Singh Chauhan to Delhi. Since then, speculations are being made that he will be given big responsibility at the Centre. The PM also praised Shivraj Singh and said that both of them worked together in the party organization and later as Chief Minister.

In the Lok Sabha elections, BJP has fielded Shivraj Singh from Vidisha seat. Before becoming the Chief Minister, he had been MP from this seat 5 times. Traditionally this seat is considered a stronghold of BJP. Veteran BJP leaders like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Sushma Swaraj have won from this seat.

Shivraj Singh Chauhan himself has won the 1991 by-election from Vidisha and the 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2004 Lok Sabha elections. Congress has fielded Pratap Bhanu Sharma against Shivraj Singh Chauhan from Vidisha.
Ever since BJP has declared Shivraj Singh Chauhan as its candidate from Vidisha, there has been speculation that he may be given a bigger responsibility in central politics. Now after the recent statement of PM Modi, this matter has gained more importance.
