West Bengal Lok Sabha Elections 2024 : The form of BJP candidate and former IPS officer Debashish Dhar from Birbhum Lok Sabha seat of West Bengal has been canceled. After this, BJP has made Debtanu Bhattacharya the new candidate from this seat. Sources associated with the Election Commission said that according to an order of the Delhi High Court, it is necessary to obtain a no-dues certificate from the agency with which they are working.
Debashish left IPS job and entered politics
As per section 36 of RP Act, the candidate has to pay the bills including water, housing, electricity in which section it is written in the nodes that no dues of the concerned person are released. If this no-dues certificate is not submitted the nomination form is cancelled. Debashish Dhar recently resigned from the post of IPS officer and entered politics.
Official sources said, 'Despite resigning, no release order has been given to Debashish. Debashish has been placed on the mandatory waiting list after five people died in a firing incident in Sitalkuchi.
BJP accused TMC of conspiracy
While BJP has prepared another candidate in place of Debashish, BJP General Secretary Jagannath Chattopadhyay said, 'A conspiracy is being hatched behind the scenes. We don't want to take any risk. Due to technical reasons, BJP is getting the form filled by another candidate. Bhattacharya said, 'I will do whatever my party asks me. We are all united and working together to fight against the conspiracy of Trinamool Congress. We have prepared a strategy to foil their gameplan.
