EC gave clean chit to PM Modi

Sources said that the Election Commission has given its verdict against Prime Minister Modi in the first case of violation of the Model Code of Conduct. The Election Commission said that it does not consider the mention of construction of Ram temple as an appeal for votes on the basis of religion. The Election Commission may soon send a reply to the complainant lawyer Anand Jondale. The Election Commission believes that Prime Minister Modi was referring to the achievements of his government and his statement does not promote any kind of bitterness. Let us tell you that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had mentioned the construction of Ram Temple and development of Kartarpur Corridor in the rally in Pilibhit.

Let us tell you that Supreme Court lawyer Anand S. Jondal had complained to the Election Commission that at an election rally in Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit on April 9, Prime Minister Modi had sought votes in the name of Hindu deities and Hindu temples and holy places of Sikhs and Sikh gurus. He accused Prime Minister Modi of violating the election code of conduct. Not only this, Communist Party of India (Marxist) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury had also complained to the Election Commission, accusing PM Modi of violating the Model Code of Conduct during the election campaign.
