He received the award on the memorial day of theater-music legend Dinanath Mangeshkar, father of the Mangeshkar siblings. Amitabh Bachchan gave life to those characters with his excellent acting in films like 'Zanjeer', 'Deewar', 'Sholay', 'Chupke-Chupke', 'Mohabbatein', 'Piku'. The megastar said that he is feeling proud to receive this award today.
Receiving the award, he said, 'I never considered myself worthy of such an award, but Hirdenath (Mangeshkar) ji tried hard to get me here. Last year he had also invited me for this program. He further said, 'Haridyanath ji, I apologize to you for the last time. I told you then that I Sick Was . This year I had no excuse, so I had to come here. Lata ji was the eldest of Mangeshkar's five siblings who died in the year 2022. After her death, the family and trust established this award in the memory of Sur Samragini. Singer Usha Mangeshkar, the third among the Mangeshkar siblings, presented the award to Bachchan. Earlier, another sister of Mangeshkar and famous singer Asha Bhosle was to be given this award but she could not attend the event due to ill health.
