Aviation body, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has asked all airlines to ensure that children up to 12 years of age are allotted seats on flights accompanied by one of their parents or guardians.
The directive comes in the backdrop of incidents of children below 12 years of age not being allowed to board flights along with their parents or guardians. A DGCA press note said, “Airlines must ensure that children up to 12 years of age are allotted seats traveling on the same PNR accompanied by at least one parent/guardian and a record of the same is maintained. will be kept.”
In this regard, the regulator has amended the Air Transport Circular titled 'Unbundling of Services and Charges by Scheduled Airlines', according to which certain services like zero baggage, priority seating arrangement, food/snack/beverage charges and musical instrument allowances Fees are included. fitting. The aviation body said such unbundled services are provided by airlines on an “opt-in” basis and are not mandatory.
