The groom is a teacher in a school and he had an affair with a class 11 student there, after which the family decided to get them married.
The marriage of both was to take place on 23 April. The girl's family kept waiting for the groom. But later they got information that the groom had eloped with another girl. After this he went to the police station and complained about it. The victim's family told that they had completed preparations from the guest house to the wedding. They waited the whole night for the wedding procession to arrive but the groom ran away with another girl. The victim alleges that his demand of Rs 5 lakh and a car was not fulfilled, hence he did this.
Kanpur South DCP Ravinder Kumar said that such a case has come to light. At present Hanumant Vihar police is investigating the matter. According to the DCP, the groom has gone away with his girlfriend. Investigation is being done and action will be taken.
