Nirmal Rishi brought pride to Punjabi industry, received Padmashree award from the President – ​​News India Live

Actress Nirmal Rishi, known as Gulabo Masi of Punjabi film industry, was honored with the Padma Shri award at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Even at the age of 80, Punjabi film industry's brilliant actress Nirmal Rishi has received this award after 41 years of hard work. In these 41 years, Nirmal Rishi worked in more than 80 films. He has made entire Punjab proud with this award.

Nirmal Rishi was born on 28 August 1946 in Khiva Kalan village of Bathinda. After independence, this area is now part of Mansa district. His father Baldev Krishna Rishi was the sarpanch of the village. It is said that Nirmal Rishi was very fond of theater and Bhangra. He started doing theater from school itself.

Nirmal Rishi was brought up by his uncle. He passed 10th from Sriganganagar and obtained B.Ed degree from Jaipur. There he participated in theatre, NCC and sports. He also received the award for best cadet. Not only this, she also kept playing for Rajasthan. She came to Patiala from Rajasthan to pursue Masters and MA in Physical Education from Government College. Done

Nirmal Rishi staged his first play Adhure Sapne in 1966 under the direction of Harpal Tiwana. This was the first play of his life. Meanwhile, he also got a chance to do theater with late Bollywood actor Om Puri. From theatre, she came to the big screen in 1984 and played the role of Gulabo Masi in the film Long Da Lashkara.

It is said that she was so hit with this character that producers lined up for her. Everyone was asking her to play the character of Gulabo Masi again but Nirmal Rishi refused to play the same character again.

The name Nirmal Rishi was proposed by the Government of India on 26 January. After his name appeared in Padmashree, the entire Punjabi industry congratulated him. Finally, after 41 years of hard work, his hard work bore fruit.

After being selected for Padmashree, Nirmal Rishi said that the government considered him worthy of it, hence thanks to the government. Today the hard work of my entire life has paid off. Proud that she is bringing glory to Punjab.
