Jodhpur, 22 April (HS). Earth Day program was organized at Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education-Dry Forest Research Institute, Jodhpur. A group of 69 trainee officers from Central Academy State Forest Service, Dehradun participated under the leadership of Amalendu Pathak, IAS, Lecturer.
On this occasion, the director of the institute, M.R. Baloch explained in detail the various projects being run by AFRI in the field of biodiversity, forest and environment and mentioned their usefulness in the western ecosystem. In this program, Dr. Tarun Kant, Scientist-G and Group Coordinator (Research) in a power point presentation on the theme of Earth Day – Earth vs Plastic, explained in detail the solution to the harm caused by single use plastic through recycle and upcycle. Amalendu Pathak told about the outline of the tour programme. All the division heads were present in the program.
The program was conducted by Dr. Sangeeta Singh, Divisional Head, Extension Division and vote of thanks was given by Anil Singh Chauhan, ACTO. Dr. Sangeeta Singh, Head of Division, Extension Division, provided information to the trainee team about the research work done by AFRI at the Extension and Interpretation Centre.
