Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, while addressing the election rally in the premises of Muktapur High School in Goradih block of Bhagalpur on Monday, without taking the name of Lalu family, said that he had come because of our foolishness. When Lalu Yadav had to step down from the post after seven years, he also made his wife the Chief Minister.
CM Nitish said that both have become husband and wife. After that, son, daughter, children remain busy in everyone's affairs. JDU is such a party that its people do not move here and there. Don't do anything for your family. I have been in the party for so many days. Never took his family forward. Didn't do anything for his family. Talking about the progress of women, the Chief Minister said that when we were ministers at the Centre. So a committee was formed for the upliftment of women. There was talk of one-third reservation for women in the national rules. We were members in it.
Nitish Kumar said that when our government was formed for the first time in 2005, we gave reservation to women in the election of the Chief. Then reservation was given in the municipal body also. Now women have up to 50 percent reservation in jobs. We ran bicycle scheme, dress scheme for daughters. Daughters have now started going to school. Schools have been built and women are moving forward everywhere. The Chief Minister said that we had gone to jail during the JP movement. In our time, jobs in engineering were not available. So we took the engineering students along and agitated and went to jail. Then we were lodged in Bhagalpur jail. When he became the Chief Minister, he kept coming to Bhagalpur. We have a deep connection with our birthplace and Bhagalpur.
The Chief Minister said that before 2005 no one came out of the house in the evening. You guys know what the condition was. Now Bihar is progressing everywhere. Earlier, there used to be so much fighting between Hindus and Muslims. Now there is no quarrel of any kind. We have cordoned off 8 thousand cemeteries and one thousand cemeteries have been identified. That too will soon be surrounded. Earlier there was no self-help group. We made a living by forming self-help groups. Now more than 10 lakh livelihood workers are working in Bihar. This livelihood will be called livelihood across the country.
The Chief Minister asked people to vote for JDU National Democratic Alliance candidate Ajay Mandal from Bhagalpur by giving huge votes to make Narendra Modi the Prime Minister for the third time. On this occasion, Rajiv Kant Mishra, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Jha, Education Minister Sunil Kumar, Minister Vijay Chaudhary, Kahkshan Parveen, Shah Fakre Alam Hasan addressed the gathering. More than 3000 male youth along with most of the women had attended the public meeting.
