Guwahati (Assam), 20 April (HS). Assam Government's Information and Public Relations Minister Piyush Hazarika alleged that Congress has killed innocent people. He was addressing a rally at Mikirvita in Dhing of Morigaon on Saturday.
He said that the Congress government was in Assam for 60 years. In these 60 years, Congress built only six medical colleges in Assam and we ruled Assam for seven years and 10 months, in these seven years and 10 months we built 18 medical colleges.
Explaining why we need a medical college, the Minister said that a medical college is not only for treatment but doctors study in medical colleges. If we had made arrangements for medical education, we would have been able to send doctors to areas like Mikirvita also. During Congress days, there were only 726 doctors in Assam. That's why we have not been able to send doctors to rural areas. People in villages have to live with diseases.
The minister said that only the Congress government is responsible for this. If Congress had created a medical college, we would have had doctors here today. Our people today do not die at a young age. Congress is the murderer of innocent people. Today many people in villages have to die without treatment because Congress did not appoint doctors. In his speech he reiterated that Congress is a murderer. The minister asked whether there would be any benefit in voting for such a Congress.
He said “The first phase of voting took place in Assam yesterday. I am traveling all over Assam these days, talking to people – I can say that BJP is going to win all these five constituencies.
It is noteworthy that the first phase of voting took place in Assam on Friday. In the first phase, voting was held in five constituencies of Assam, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Kaziranga, Sonitpur and Lakhimpur.
In the meeting, Minister Piyush attacked Pradyut Bardlai, the outgoing MP from Nagaon, saying that the Congress MP's five-year tenure ended, but he did not come to Morigaon, Jagiroad and Lahirighat in five years. Congress party has again fielded him – this time leave Mikirvita, leave Morigaon Town, leave Jagiroad, Lahrighat, Dhing, Rupahi. Referring to his presence in Lahrighat yesterday, the Minister said that he attended four meetings in Lahrighat yesterday. Eight thousand to 10 thousand people participated in each meeting and 80 percent of them were minorities. When asked who they would vote for this time, the people of Larighat said that they would only vote for BJP. Because, Congress has not done anything for the people of Larighat. The minister again took a dig at Congress and said that it is a party of distributing cotton and blankets. During this, while Hazarika told about many schemes of the BJP government, he also criticized the actions of the previous Congress government.
