Kaithal: Memorandum given in teachers union demonstration at DEO office

Kaithal, 18 April (Hindustan Reporter) In protest against disregard of compulsory education and not imparting education through Hindi medium in Model Culture Schools, teachers under the banner of Haryana School Teachers Association Affiliated All Employees Union and School Teachers Federation of India, protested at the District Education Officer office on Friday from 3 to 5 pm. Protesting till o'clock, a memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister through the District Education Officer. Which was presided over by District Head Vijendra Mor and coordinated by District Secretary Buta Singh.

He told that before this, a detailed meeting was held with District Education Officer Vijayalakshmi and District Elementary Education Officer Saroj Dahiya regarding the pending cases of teachers. State Secretaries Rampal Sharma and Kanwarjeet said that only English medium students are being given admission in Model Culture Schools, whereas big educationists have emphasized on imparting education in local language or mother tongue for the all-round development of children. While saying that Hindi medium students should be compulsorily given admission in the first class in these schools. Because there is no other Hindi medium school in his area/village. State Secretary Rakesh Sharma said that admissions are being given in model schools as per the infrastructural facilities. That means, if rooms are less, teachers are less, admission will be given to fewer students. He demanded that students should be provided with infrastructural facilities as per admission and the reservation system in admission should be abolished. He said that after 64 years of independence, the country got the right to free and compulsory education under the Right to Education Act. According to which students up to class 8th will get free education.

The state government is collecting admission fees and monthly tuition fees from students in violation of the law in the name of Model Culture Schools. Enrollment in government schools is decreasing due to Chirag Yojana. He demanded that the Chirag scheme should be withdrawn and the public education structure should be strengthened. On this occasion, Sheeshpal Sharma, Bhupendra Singh, Dal Singh, Vijendra Sharma, Krishna Arya, Satpal Panchal, Ramphal Deohara, Gopaldas, Sardul Singh, Narayan Dutt, Satbir Singh, Sudhir Sharma, Naseeb Singla were present.
