Ranchi, 19 April (HS). Sukhdev Nagar police station of the capital has arrested Pintu Sah, accused of smuggling brown sugar. 26 grams of brown sugar and a mobile phone have been recovered from it.
SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha told in the press conference on Friday that secret information was received that a person from Sasaram, Bihar was coming with brown sugar (narcotic substance) to supply it in Sukhdevnagar area of Ranchi. After the information, a team was formed under the leadership of Kotwali DSP. Seeing the police team near Akashvani Ratu Road, some people started running away. During this time the team caught one person. Brown sugar was recovered from him. During interrogation, the accused told that he supplies brown sugar from Sasaram to Ranchi and also brings it to Ranchi from time to time.
City SP Rajkumar Mehta, DSP Prakash Soy and police station incharge Manoj Kumar and others were present during the press conference.
